The memories of the trips of Antoine d'Abbadie can be seen throughout the decoration of the Château (wall paintings with scenes of life in Ethiopia) where he stayed for 11 years. Motos, quotes, religious advices are inscribed on architectural parts of the château. The three aisles, respectively dedicated to astronomy and the study (observatory with presentation of the library and the telescope), to the family life and receptions (newly-weds room, balcony in the chapel, main stairway, dining room, reception room and smoking room with arab architecture, honour bedroom, Virgine d'Abbadie's oriental lounge) and to devotion (chapel) |
