In the heart of the forest of Ermenonville, in Oise, the royal Abbey of Chaalis, beyond of seven centuries of history, presents the pomps of collector's special residence.
The abbey and domain were donated to the Institute of France in 1912 by Nélie Jacquemart, widow of Edward André. The ruins of the abbey church of the XIIIth century, the chapel adorned with frescoes of the XVIth century, the huge park, the rose garden and ponds add to the attraction of the museum.
The important collection Jean-Jacques Rousseau finds its place within this domain which includes on its lands the "shack " of the philosopher and the "desert" of Ermenonville. The castle, the orangery, the chapel, the rose garden and the park of the abbey of Chaalis give an ideal frame for all receptions: dinner of prestige, party, seminary, launching of products, photographs...
